I just came across another article speaking of high levels of heavy metals in soil utilized to grow organic produce. As a byproduct of this, there was a notice suggesting plant based organic protein powder and vegetables could have high traces of lead and other harmful metals. You cannot stop eating. Corn flakes are not a substitute for good quality food. Growing a garden with active soil ( soil that is fed organic mineral regularly, and is not tilled with a potential mycelium structure) will pick up and utilize the metal content that may be harmful. Mulching with wood chips creates a habitat for mushrooms, which will digest the harmful metals. ( don’t eat the mushrooms in this instance)
